Description: An offset lithographic print by nationally recognized wildlife artist Dietmar Krumrey (German, American) after an original work titled ’Raccoon (Procyon Lotor) depicting two rascally raccoons balanced on a branch where one dips an arm into the water below and the other with eyes precariously fixed on a neighboring frog. Minor water damage in the upper left corner (please see photos). Can be covered with matte and frame work. Born in Wassel, Germany, Dietmar Krumrey emigrated to America with his family at age three. They lived in Chicago before relocating to Michigan's Upper Peninsula, where Dietmar developed the deep affection and respect for wildlife so evident in his art. Trained at Chicago's American Academy of Art, he was an artist for Hallmark in Kansas City, Missouri before a freelance career that brought him back to the UP to live and paint near the forests and lakes that inspire his work. His works are included in many private collections across the country and has exhibited in such prestigious shows as the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Show, the Smithsonian Institute, the National Wildlife Art Exhibit in Kansas City, the Wildlife Festival in Tulsa, the Southeastern Wildlife Exposition in Charleston and the Waterfowl Festival in Easton, Maryland. Dietmar won numerous wildlife art competitions and was chosen to design the 1985-86 Waterfowl Habitat Stamp/Print for the Michigan Duck Hunters Association and the 1991 Eaton County Chapter of Michigan Ducks Unlimited Stamp/Print. Throughout his career, Dietmar won five Michigan Duck Stamp competitions, three Iowa Duck Stamp competitions, and two Trout Stamp competitions. Among his many achievements, Dietmar was named Michigan Ducks Unlimited Artist of the Year 5 times and MUCC Michigan Wildlife Artist of the Year twice. This is so beautiful! Thanks for looking!
