Description: Here's a nice example of a c.1933 (256,xxx serial) '446N Model' Bb Boehm system clarinet by CG Conn of USA. The instrument is made of grenadilla wood and nickel alloy keys, posts and rings, with an extra large bore of .605": basically the model is a step-up from the famous 444N model (promoted by Artie Shaw), having 7 rings and an articulated C#. All pieces are original, no cracks or repairs to body, just a sealed hairline in the barrel. Its been disassembled, soaked in oil, the mechanism swedged and countersunk, body, keys, rings, and posts buffed, new white Roo leather pads and corks installed. This pro grade clarinet is in good shape for its years and plays with a warm, open tone and good intonation. Comes with vintage case in solid (but somewhat worn) condition.
