Description: Up for bid is an original vintage pre-owned Conley Kewpie Large Box Roll Film Wood Camera (No. 3A). Found at an estate sale of a vintage camera collector. The Kewpie Box Camera was manufactured by Conley Camera Company from approximately 1915 - 1922. Manufactured in Rochester. Minnesota. The box is constructed of wood and covered in leatherette. It contained a genuine meniscus achromatic lens with fixed focus. There are two view finders and two tripod sockets on the bottom and sides. It was simple to operate. It has a distinctive wheel over the front of the lens that had four different aperture sizes. These are f/14, f/16, f/22, f/32. It measures about 6 ½” tall by 6 ¾” long and about 4 ½” wide. The No. 3A Kewpie took 3 ¼” by 5 ½” postcard size images on 122 roll film. There is a 122-expose roll still inside the camera. The leather hand strap is intact. It shows some general wear from use and storage, but overall, in nice condition. The only thing I see is a missing red plastic piece in the slot where you can see the picture number on the film roll.
