Description: For your consideration is this Vintage Boxed Yixing Swirl Clay Teapot, Cups and Saucers Set This is a very nice set, which appears to have been used as display only, as there is no signs of usage and no damage. The tea pieces are all made of a red clay and each one is marked individually, but I am unaware of what the marks say. The teapot itself if the only piece with the added swirl decoration, the cups and saucers have no added decoration. The teapot is onion shaped, standing about 3 3/4" tall and about 3 3/4" wide, NOT including the handle and spout which, when added, makes the overall width about 5 1/2" The saucers are about 3 1/2" across.The small cups stand about 1 1/4" tall and are about 1 7/8" across. The original storage box is in great structural condition and only has minimal signs of wear and fraying of the fabric covering. The closed ornate decorative storage box measures about 9 " wide, 6 1/2" deep (front to back) and 4" tall.The entire assembly weighs just over 2 pounds I have included pictures of all markings and would be very interested if anyone has any insights into their deciphering or translation. **Thanks to a question from an eBayer, I tried to measure how many ounces the cups and teapot might hold. Filling the small cups to the brim (super full) the cups hold about 1oz of liquid. Filling the teapot with (what I determined to be) a reasonable amount of liquid, I found that it held between 7 and 8 fl oz. Please feel free to ask any questions.Thank You!!EBR
