Description: On offer is a small ( 5” 5”x3”), plaster or chalkware replica of a mine cart. Finisher with black and gold paint, and inscribed with the words “Acme Iron Co.” and “Vincent c -1979,@ cart rests on a chalk ware track sample, and is filled with actual stone shards. The stone, I believe, is chrysacolla, which is a copper ore. I imagine this to be true because the sole other example of this item I can find had the same stones and bore a sticker stating “ chrysacolla” on the bottom. Apparently several of these carts, filled with different mined materials, and possibly other train cars, were given as premiums for opening or expanding accounts at certain banks. Piece is in fine vintage condition. I see no chips, cracks or repairs, but there is some paint loss along corners and edges, as plaster is wont to do. The piece is quite arresting and unique, and definitely has a lot of character and “wow” factor. It was obviously designed with a lot of love and care. I was honestly not really sure what category to list it in, and I hope it finds its way to a collector who can really appreciate it. Miniature mine cart ships USPS Ground Advantage from Los Angeles.
