The previous owner recently conditioned the wood with a furniture wax that he said was safe on the wood. I know nothing about polishing old wood but this gentleman is a long time collector and highly recommends this technique to condition.There is a 3" x 2" section on the side of the bowl that has been painted with a light brown paint sometime during this bowl's lifetime.
