Vintage 8 Track Tape Storage Carrying Case from Crest Manufacturing Edgefield SC

Description: Vintage 8 Track Tape Storage / Carrying Case made by Crest Manufacturing of Edgefield, South Carolina This case was made by Crest Manufacturing. I don't know when. Holds 12 eight track tapes. The tapes you see in one of the photos are for illustrative purposes only and are not included in the sale of the case. I don't know that the case gives a perfectly good fit for 8 track cartridges, but they do fit and that is how the case was being used when I found it. The dividers inside keep the cartridges at a very slight angle. Please closely examine the photos for condition details. There are some scuffs, marks and stains, but no significant damage. No cracks were observed. There is a stain on the bottom that I couldn't wipe off , although it did respond to a brief scraping by thumbnail. The hinged lid works well. The lid "locks" in place by ensuring a small tab at the center/front of lid is hooked over the lip at the top of the front of the base. The center of the base top has to be pushed in slightly for latching/unlatching. I want to say a few words about the plastic dividers inside the case. They are removable. They fit in slots molded into the sides of the base. I noticed that the dividers came out of the slots easily when the case was empty. I don't know how well they stay in place when the case is full. I have them held in place right now with some air bags. The reason I am mentioning all this is because the dividers are a royal pain in the butt to get back into the slots if they come out. I am not exaggerating when I say it took me 10 minutes to put the dividers in the slots before I could take a picture. There - you have been advised. The case measures approximately 17 x 7 x 5 1/2 inches. It is wider at the top than at the bottom. This will be packed well for safe shipping. Because of the case's length, a rather large box is required for shipping and that drives the cost of shipping way up. Sorry. That's just how it is.
