The "Hope" angel is the second design in Margaret Furlong's five-year limited edition series "Flora Angelica" - the flowers of angels. This angel with her stem of lilies and elegant leaf headdress, represents hope and new life through the resurrection of Christ. These small treasures are particularly lovely displayed on their easels in a china cabinet or on a table so that your angel, or collection of angels, can be enjoyed all year around. Flora Angelica, the flowers of the angels, is Margaret Furlong's fourth five-year series. Each year from 1995 through 1999 a new angel will be designed in an edition of 10,000. Individually numbered, dated totled and impressed with Margaret Furlong's potter's seal, each delicate angel is completely homemade. Our most skilled artisians fashion seperate pieces and then assemble them into a finished angel while the porcelain is still wet and pliable. After drying, the angel is then fired until the clay matures into translucent bisque porcelain. Each angel in this series is inspired by Margaret's love of gardening and her deeply held belief that beauties of nature are God's special gift to mankind - a gift you can celebrate and share all year long.
