Description: Vintage 1997 USSR Russian Eskimo Inuit Mother and Child Figures Carved Sculpture APT 616 This carefully carved and polished soapstone statue depicts a mother and child in a beautiful Russian Inuit style carving. It is marked on the bottom Apt 616 which is the Inuit disc number that Inuits were previously required to use to identify themselves, and some artists used their number as a signature. A Made in USSR label is intact on the bottom. It measures about 3 1/8" wide at the widest point; and about 2 1/4" tall at its tallest. From a smoke and pet free home.
