This mate was made to commemorate International Cup (World soccer club champion) winner Club Atlético Vélez Sarsfield in 1994. The cup features an old and new team logo of the team and is inscribed: "Campeon del Mundo, 01-12-1994". Great sport memorabilia. The final was held in Tokyo on 12/01/1994. The participating teams were Vélez Sarsfield, Argentina - Champion of the 1994 Copa Libertadores Campion and Milan from Italy, Champion of the UEFA Champions League 1993-1994. Against all odds, the South American team won 2-0 against a rival that had a squad full of top-level stars. It meant the first title in the competition for Vélez Sarsfield, which became the sixth club from its country to win the Intercontinental Cup, definitively establishing Argentina as the country that contributed the most champion teams to the competition.
