Description: Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome. You are looking at a classic, quality Shure Brothers dynamic cardioid microphones from the 1980's that have been cleaned and tested. This is the earlier American made SM58 model that was factory set at low impedance. The mic comes with a mic clip as shown as well as the mic pouch in which to store. Pic # 2 shows an older SM58 data sheet with the mics basic characteristics. The Low Z setting makes this mic ideal for general broadcasting and singing. The SM-58 has a very warm, smooth tone with a decent amount of bass. Excellent uni-directional characteristics as well. These mics are built like tanks and properly taken care of there is no reason this mic can't last 100 years. A real workhorse and one of the most rugged Shure mics ever built. The mics has 100% output with zero issues and the XLR pins were cleaned for a perfect connection once the XLR cable is attached though no cable is provided. The SM58 is all metal design with a stock painted finish. As you can see there are typical lite signs of wear on the painted handle. Just lite scuff marks small paint chips and lite scratches but no fractures or corrosion. The front grill on this mic was so badly dented that I simply could not repair the damage so I replaced the original front globe / grill with a new replacement globe that looks really nice with zero dents, tarnish or odors. The inner foam insert / pop filters is in new condition of course. I always replace these as the older ones are usually in rough and degraded condition. It helps greatly with acoustics and prevents the dreaded "pops" from breathing or windy conditions. The Shure label looks pretty good with lite wear but completely legible. The microphone is a very conservative 7 on a scale of 1 - 10 physically speaking. The real beauty of this mic is the sound it produces. Hook this up and you are ready for any live event. The mic clip is a generic type based on the Shure A-25 model mic clip. It's in perfect condition and grips the mic firmly. It provides a good amount of tilt up and down and it will screw onto any desk or floor stand. A nice black vinyl mic pouch is also included which is also in perfect condition.
