Vintage 1980's Shure PE75H cardioid dynamic microphone Hi Z w extras SM58 PE50SP

Description: Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome. You are looking at a unique and rarer quality Shure Brothers dynamic cardioid microphone from the 1980's that has been cleaned and tested. This is an American made PE75H model that was factory set at high impedance. It comes with an original Shure mic clip and short mic cable and mic pouch in which to store the items. This mic looks very similar in shape and size to the far more common SM-58 model. It has the built in on / off switch and grey / green painted finish. This mic has more of a mid range tone because of it's High Z setting as where the SM-58 was very heavy on the bass. I don't have any literature on this mic and this model was probably was only sold for a few years before being discontinued. A high quality Shure product however and will make a great addition to any vintage mic collection for use or display. The High Z setting would have made this mic ideal for general broadcasting, brass instruments and a good harp mic. Excellent uni-directional characteristics as well. If you have a deep voice like mine then this would sound pretty good for vocals. The mic has 100% output with zero issues. The on / off switch works perfectly and the XLR pins were cleaned for a perfect connection once the cable is attached. It should be noted that this model had a different diagram with the wiring which Shure did on certain High Z models back then. You cannot use a standard on the mic itself as it's not wired properly for that. You need to use the short cable provided with any longer cable that you intend to use. The short cable is wired for the mic then reconfigured for a standard XLR cable. You can use any longer standard XLR cable to attach to the short cable that is provided with this mic. You can always build your own custom cable if you'd like and I can provide the correct diagram you need to do so. As you can see there are extremely lite signs of wear on the original painted handle. Some small scuff marks but zero deep scratches, paint chips, fractures or corrosion. The front grill looks really nice with zero dents or odors. The Shure label looks very nice and completely legible. The original foam insert is original and in great condition. I usually replace these as the older ones are in rough and degraded condition. It helps greatly with acoustics and prevents the dreaded "pops" from breathing or windy conditions. Microphone is a very conservative 9 on a scale of 1 - 10 physically speaking. The real beauty of this mic is the sound it produces. Hook this one up and you are ready for any live event. MICROPHONE STAND SHOWN IS FOR DISPLAY PURPOSES ONLY...NOT PART OF THIS SALE. The mic clip is an original Shure A-25 model and works great giving a wide degree of tilt up and down as needed. No cosmetic wear. It will screw on to any American desk or floor stand. Comes with a short XLR cable to operate the mic. Cable is just 6 inches long and free of damage. Soft, pliable and has the Switchcraft male XLR end connector. The black vinyl mic pouch is a Shure type and it's a great place to store the items when not in use to keep the mic from being damaged. It's in excellent physical and working condition.
