These contain the motors and drive axles, and are connected by an articulated center section. The center section usually contains the crew compartments, pantographs and transformer. The name was first applied to Swiss locomotives. These locomotives, sometimes called the "Swiss Crocodile" or "SBB Crocodile", were highly successful and served until 1982. There were 33 class Ce 6/8 II and 18 class Ce 6/8 III, making a total (excluding the prototype) of 51 locomotives. Nine out of 51 total produced have survived, but only three are still in operation as preserved historical locomotives in Switzerland. Gotthard Pass is a mountain pass in the Alps traversing the Saint-Gotthard Massif and connecting northern and southern Switzerland. It lies at the hearth of the Gotthard, an important north-south axis in Europe, and it is crossed by three major traffic tunnels: Gotthard Rail Tunnel (1882), the Gotthard Road Tunnel (1980) and the Gotthard Base Tunnel (2016).Some dust on ends (due to storage) - see picsThe metal pickup on bottom has minor scratches from tested originally in the late 1950s (see pic)INSURANCE ON TRANSIT REQUIREDYour shipment will arrive via USPS Priority Mail (1-4 business days), USPS Ground (2-8 business days), or UPS Ground (1-5 business days), after the 2-3 day processing time (upon paid purchase)Shipment(s) sent out of Lemon Grove, California, USAWill be packed very well - read our feedback! No Returns ***AN INVOICE WILL BE SENT AFTER PURCHASE, WHICH MAY REFLECT A MORE ACCURATE POSTAGE RATE FOR THIS ITEM - DON'T PASS THIS UP YET!
