Description: Purchased directly from the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology in Hanoi, woodblock print from a Vietnam ethnic artist group exhibit. The Dong Ho woodblock prints are Vietnamese folk art created in the Dong Ho Village, which is world famous for its woodblock art with vibrant colors yellow, green, blood red. These prints were made with local wood and paper, paint is also made from local organic materials applied to wood and pressed on paper, bright colors are made from dried bamboo leaves, the local fruits, flowers and leaves, etc. It is the same condition as purchased on trip to Vietnam in 2014, never mounted, kept in an envelope. The measurements are approximately 10" x 14" The girl holding the duck represents desire of wishing girl to be sweet and gentle in hope she will be able to give birth to many children. The lotus is symbol of purity.
