Description: Very rare original Vietnam Era Army Staff Identification Badge/ General Staff Breast Badge. This stunning badge was 1st awarded in 1933 and was proposed by General Douglas MacAruther, the badge has remained the same since 1933 when 1st issued but the named was changed slightly in 1982. The badge is to be worn by all eligible officer and Sergeant Majors who work at only authorized positions at the Department of the Army headquarters! This is at the DOD in the Pentagon. This is a badge only worn by very high ranking officer who have done time there! Usually only seen by the highest rank Sergeant Majors & Officer usually of the rank Colonel or above! The service length has to be at least 1 year + to earn the badge also! This badge is an excellent near mint example! The enamel is perfect with black and green leave enamel that really pop! This example is hallmarked as being produced by Meyers w the 22M hallmark and was made in the USA. It is the full size badge and is an extremely desirable as a piece of military history! Hard to replace such a nice piece! Overall this piece is a premium example of a scarce and little know military badge!Badge looks amazing in hand being round the photos were tough to get but I did my best ! Looks better in hand in my opinion! Thanks for looking! Please check out my other historic badges and military/ collectible offerings!
