Description: Antique Victorian Edinburgh crystal 'Thistle' liqueur decanter set with two sherry / cordial glasses and a silver plated stand. The decanter has an inverted thistle form, slice-cut neck with hob nail cutting on the shoulder, spiral facet cut stopper and a star cut base.The liqueur glasses are etched with a thistle design to flaring bowls that rest on slice cut stems above low conical radial undercut feet. The bulbous bases of the bowls are faceted to resemble a thistle bract, while the fluted middles resembles an unopened flower.The stand has a fluted openwork handle with ball decoration and is engraved with an ornate flowering thistle design; the stand rests on four cast thistle feet.Stand made by William Mammatt & Sons, Sheffield, c. 1890’s.757 gstand - 26 cm tall, 12 x 17.5 cm across the baseglass - 8 cm tall, 4.5 cm across the topdecanter 8 cm across the base, 16 cm tall without stopper, 21 cm tall with stopperVery good antique condition.
