Thank you, Michael DESCRIPTION OF ITEM AND LISTING TYPE This a fabulous 13" rack tom, made by Remo, USA, and is unlike any other you have seen or played. It's 10" deep. The heads attach with a hoop with no hole drilled in it, and a claw that attaches to the tension rod on the one side, and the lug on the other. The lug bottom is attached to the drum, and can clip open or closed to take off or / on the head. REMO USA, over the years proved itself to be on the forefront of drum innovation. This drum bears some of those characteristics. The shell is made of their proprietary substance, Acousticon, which is a glue and wood mix which is harder than any metal. Super projection. Very hardy drum. Second, this drum evidences a novel approach to the drum hardware. Instead of having a fixed lug, the lug is attached at its bottom edge to the drum, and contains the tension rod, and claw. This allows for the rapid changing of heads on this drum. One still uses a tuning key for fine adjustments,, but simply slip up the base of the lugs and the head can be replaced. The drum is in beautiful condion. No rust nor defects. Medium gray/silver wrap.As good as this idea is, it never seemed to catch on with the general public, and hence this mechanism found on a drum is very rare. The drum itself is factory wrapped in a grey/silver wrap that is almost completely mark, rash free. The heads that are on the drum are in good playing condition, but it wouldn't hurt to change them down the line. This is a rare drum, with a value that I believe will increase over time, and in the interim fills in the 13" slot on your set real well. It's worth the $150.00 Buy it Now I'm asking for it.
