The VarroJet Story (a product of Serbia) The first prototype of varroaotic smoke was designed in 1989 in Serbia. Smoke (vapour) is easily introduced into a beehive through the front entrance using this tool. Due to its ease of use and high efficiency, the improved model has become an indispensable tool for many beekeepers in Serbia, and later spread all over the world. The main purpose of "Varrozhet" smoke is treatment and prevention of bees from varroa mites with high quality parameters (up to 98%). Smoke with medicinal substances (steam) is introduced into the hive through the pilot blocker. Also, it can be used with essential oils for alternative treatments. The device has a plastic handle in which the batteries are placed (2 x AA 1.5V - they are not part of the package). Other parts are made of metal and ensure a long service life of the product. How to use: 1. Place the tablet on a metal mesh.2. Light the tablet with a lighter (gas lighter is best).3. When the tablet starts to burn, insert the device into the hive and switch the fan on.4. After the tablet burns, remove the ash and move on to the next hive. Such treatment is applied in late summer or autumn, after the last collection of honey is removed. Smoke is performed at least three times, but not more than five times. The time interval between two fumes is 6 days. This treatment is suitable for all developmental stages of bees. The hive does not have to be closed and should not be closed for more than 10 minutes. The grid at the bottom is not a problem, but it would be good to have some floor/bottom during the treatment. The use of a grid at the bottom ensures better treatment efficiency, as such a bottom prevents the varroa from returning to the bees. Separately from the autumn treatment, it is possible to re-treat even after January, at the lowest daily temperature of 12-14 ° C.
