A sloppy joint results in poor tone. Typical bolt-on neck designs simply use wood screws - many times tapped into the wrong hole sizes. To solve this problem, we are happy to offer the Guitar Neck Threaded Insert Kit in all BRASS. This kit is targeted for those of you who wish to match their existing gold hardware Here's why you should purchase our kit: 1) Many, many luthiers/guitarists have already bought! 2) We include Full Instructions - others do not. 3) We include an allen wrench and cap screw to make the screw-in of the inserts a "piece of cake" - other's do not and you end up with stripped insert heads and a screwdriver that you just threw across the room. 4) We use only high quality polished brass screws and inserts - ultra strong and they screw-in easily. Stay away from STEEL inserts as they tend to split the wood when you install. 5) Need we say more?? 6) All you need is a 1/4" drill bit. Included in the kit are: · 4 self - tapping BRASS inserts, internally threaded to accept the neck screws · 4 Phillips flat head BRASS machine screws, #8 -32 thread, 1 1/2" long · 4 BRASS finishing washers should you have "oversized" neck plate holes (import guitars) · 1 allen wrench / 1 small socket head screw (for install only) Installation is quick and easy. No changes are made to your back plate - you simply need to re-drill the holes in your neck a tad larger.
