Description: U.S. WW2 M1 Combat Helmet. Swivel bale with front seam (1943-1944). However, it appears someone re-painted the helmet shell and liner so that it displays as a Military Police (MP) 4th division insignia type designs with painted on captain bars. So, original ww2 era helmet and liner, however, they have been repainted (I believe recently) to have a fancier display look. Helmet shell has original stitched-on chinstrap that is rough and damaged condition with most of one side of strap missing. Liner in very rough condition with interior that is damaged and missing portions of the interior webbing and other interior liner parts. The liner is marked with the Firestone logo and “F5” in interior dome area. Overall, a ww2 swivel bale front seam helmet with a ww2 era liner, however, heavily damaged interior to helmet liner and both helmet shell and liner later repainted with MP 4th division type design.
