Description: Brush is LIKE NEW - WASHED, but UNUSED. Not sure if I still have the original plastic packaging, but I’ll try to find it. Limited release of 100 total brushes. This LIMITED EDITION brush is now DISCONTINUED. DETAILS: The handle of this gorgeous powder brush features one of Japan’s most iconic cultural symbols: a Maiko (trainee geisha) holding a wagasa (Japanse umbrella made of washi paper), applied using traditional makie technique. Maiko are distinguishable from geisha by their elaborate, eye-fetching kimonos of bright colors, okobo (platform wooden sandals), their natural hair worn decorated with ornate kanzashi (hairpins) and red and pink-hued makeup around their eyes and eyebrows, and pink blush. In contrast, geisha typically wear more subdued kimonos, undecorated black wigs, flat sandals and simpler makeup. Maiko training is about five years, during which time they learn the art of traditional dance, music, tea ceremony and tatami room etiquette.
