Description: Limited Edition, #33 (very early production number)The Official 1987 Easter Plate in Stained Glass and Pewter, Authorized by the United States Historical Society. The Good Shepherd, based on the painting by 19th century historical painter Bernard Plockharst who specialized in religious subjects. His painting was adapted for stained glass by respected historical painter Jack Woodson. The Good Shepherd is the First Edition in an annual collection of Easter Plates commissioned by the United States Historical Society and produced by the Stained Glass Guild, the same artisans who prepare stained glass art for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. These artisans apply 17 separate layers of transparent enamels which are then fused with the glass in a kiln guaranteeing no fading. The frame is made of silver-like polished Jefferson Pewter that is naturally tarnish resistant. The Pewter is crafted of the finest lead-free Jefferson Pewter that will not tarnish and seldom needs cleaning. Comes with the original silver box with gold eagles on the front as well as the original 1984 shipping box. A Leeds plastic display stand is included as well as the COA. May have minor scratch marks from polishing on the polished side of the pewter, but not distracting as you can see in the photos. Beautiful and rare to find in this condition with the original silver tone box with gold eagles on the front. I am providing high resolution photos for you to judge condition yourself, but if you need additional photos or have any questions, do not assume -- please contact me before purchasing.
