Description: This is a big and tall, unusual, stylish pipe with a rusticated and inspector gadget vibe. Estate pipe, listed as used because it was pre-owned but it was never used. I cannot see any Stamp or marks, but it comes directly from the Cortegiano heirs estate / workshop. This is a true rarity / novelty pipe. Grab this rare desirable famous Cortegiano pipe. All handmade, freeform. Grab it while you can. From pipedia - Joseph (Joe) Cortegiano was a highly renowned Pipemaker in New York City, widely famed for the precision and care of his work. He was particularly known for his big freehands, which enjoyed large demand and were reported to be selling as easy as ice cream on a hot day. If we say big, we should think big: one has to imagine pipes a la Ser Jacopo maxima maxima maxima. Or even bigger. Cortegiano pipes were stored in the most famous pipe shops of NYC like E. Wilke on Madison Avenue. He worked also for Barclay Rex. Sold as is - has some dings or indents that look natrual to the wood - in my opinion. Zoom in on photos if needed or ask for more.
