Description: Uncle Sam & John Bull Globe cartoon cover 1921 rare Pearson's Magazine pictorial (Old Magazines, Early 20th Century Periodicals, Uncle Sam, John Bull, Political Cartoon, Globe, Current Events, News Magazines, Illustrated Magazines). Pearson's. Published August 1921, New York by Pearson's Magazine, Inc. c. 52 pages. Text in English. Nice assortment of dated advertising as well, often illustrated. Rare early 20th century American current events magazine with pleasing visual content. Includes a cartoon style cover showing Uncle Sam & England's John Bull sharing a world globe between them Binding displays toning, soiling, lower corner chip, spine paper split, mostly small signs of age, time and handling, nothing offensive or major. Paper inside is newspaper print, so highly acidic and now oxidized and typically brittle. Overall entirely acceptable example of what is a scarce random magazine issue survival. The pictures give a very good sense of how the item survives. Virtually all periodicals of this era are somewhat scarce today as loose complete issues. Like most random survivals of old periodical printing, any specific example (like this one) is likely among a relative handful still extant. As each decade goes back from 1950, the rate of scarcity for any specific magazine or paper item increases noticeably. Magazine remains attractive on the shelf. It displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws easy to overlook or forgive. Please review photos for more detail and our best attempt to convey how this antique item survives. This item is not new- it is old and has been handled by different owners in the past. Magazine Measures c. 11" H x 8 1/4" W. [B10847].
