Description: Two very interesting small antique boxes from China. Construction is solid, and is a combination of wood. leather and lacquer. Both appear hand painted, with ornate designs of floral patterns and very subtle birds and flowers on the gray box. Red box has a certification, dated Sep. 4, 1976, that the box is hand made and over 100 years old. So made before 1876. The certification letter is a Form "C" and has a photo of the box, stamps and signature. All original hardware on each including hinges, clasps, locks and handles. Gray box is adorned with decorative and protective corners and top designs. The artwork, especially on the gray box is very detailed and pleasing bird and flower designs. Suitable for display or storage. Red box is 7 1/4" x 4 1/4" x 3 1/4" Grey box is 7 1/4" x 4 1/4" x 4"
