Lizzie Champney wrote many juvenile and young adult novels, was published in Harper's Magazine, in The Century and other periodicals of the day. The Vassar Girls Abroad series was her mostly popular. Illustrated by "Champ" and other illustrators, including Harry Furniss. Good to Very Good condition: front hinge starting to loosen (see photo # 3). Stamping on boards and spine has faded. Wear at corners and spine extremities. Former owner's name and "Christmas 1887" penciled on front endpaper; penciled gift inscription on foretitle page. A nice, solid copy, wirth excellent interior paper.
