Description: Title of your page goes here Theorie Und Anwendung Der Laplace-Transformation in German 1943 Alien Property This is an original 439 page, 6 1/4" x 9 1/4", hardcover book with original dust cover, titled Theorie Und Anwendung Der Laplace-Transformation (Theory and Application of the Laplace Transformation). The book written by Gustav Doetsch was first copyrighted and published in 1937 by Julius Springer in Berlin. This is one of the first American editions (written in German) copyrighted and published in 1943 by Dover Publications with the 1943 copyright vested in the U.S. Alien Property Custodian. Though this book was published in the U.S., it is not an English translation but instead it is written in German and is nearly identical to the original but with corrections of all errors noted by the author in the first edition. The book was also enlarged with a special German-English glossary of the technical terms used in the book. Comments from the dust jacket - "This internationally famous work presents a thorough analysis of the mathematical foundation and of the practical use of the Laplace transformation for solving ordinary and partial differential equations, difference equations and certain types of integral equations. The wide field of application of this method which is particularly valuable for the analysis of transients in mechanical, acoustical, aeronautical and electrical engineering is illustrated by the following typical examples: vibrational transients in mechanical systems; transients in airplane flight; thermal transients in machinery and in vacuum tubes; transients in systems involving automatic control of temperature, pressure, liquid levels; transients in electrical wave filters and transmission lines; transients in vacuum tube circuits, scanning, sweeping and timing circuits; transients in electro-mechanical systems involving microscopes, loud speakers, etc. The book, one of the best-known titles in the famous "Yellow (Grundlehren) Series", contains an extremely useful table of transforms of functions, indicating the half-planes of convergence". Condition - The book and complete and tightly bound. The dust cover is torn on the edges, at the corners, and pieces are torn away and missing along the spine edge and at the bottom outer front cover. The dark blue cover cloth with gold spine edge print is unfaded. Cover cloth wear is minimal consisting of pinched cover corners. There is a previous owners last name, the word Cambridge, and a small written in ink year in the corner of the otherwise blank front end page. There are no other markings in the book. The pages are crisp. There are no torn, missing, loose, creased or marked pages. The dust cover is as described. The book is in very good condition. The book will be shipped in a hardboard package via media mail. Multiple books purchased the same day may be eligible for combined shipping. Place any books for combined shipping in a cart then request and wait for a total prior to paying.
