Description: Per Wikipedia, 11 is the third studio album by American rock band The Smithereens, released on October 24, 1989, by Capitol Records. It includes the Billboard Top 40 single "A Girl Like You". The album was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America in June 1990. TheThe Smithereens switched producers for the album, going from Don Dixon, who had produced their first two albums, to Ed Stasium, who had produced albums by The Ramones and Living Colour. The results were positive and the album sold well. The single "A Girl Like You" peaked at No. 2 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock chart and at No. 3 on the magazine's Modern Rock chart. It became the band's first Top 40 entry on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at No. 38 and spending 20 weeks on the chart. The album title was inspired by the film Ocean's 11, "with a little push from Spinal Tap's famous line, "This one goes to 11", according to guitarist Jim Babjak. The album up for bid is a 1989 release on the Capitol/Enigma label and was licensed to Columbia Records as a Club Edition. The recording was manufactured at Columbia's Carrollton pressing facility. The recording consists of 10 tracks with a run time of 33+ minutes. The cover is in VG+ condition with only one small defect on the title edge. There are no split seams, bent corners and both front and back covers are without defect. The covers are glossy and all graphics and photos show no discoloration. The paper inner sleeve is original and intact. One side contains track listings along with lyrics, the other side has a photo of the group along with production information and is in VG condition. The recording has been cleaned, tested and recorded using Audacity. All tracks are free of skips and there is very little background noise. On testing, I detected a single mild "click" on Side 2, track 5 (Kiss Your Tears Away) that did not impact on the music. The sound is crisp and clean and strong. The record surfaces are free of any abnormalities. All surfaces are glossy and there are no abnormalities. This recording will qualify as VG+/EX by Goldmine grading standards. This is one fine album.
