Description: The Outsider Magazine was a small-press imprint run by husband and wife team of Gypsy Lou and Jon Webb that attracted such Beat Generation notables including Lawrence Ferlinghetti and Alan Ginsberg. They were responsible for Publishing Charles Bukowski’s first book of poetry as well as books of drawings by Henry Miller. There were four issues of the magazine put out with this, number 4&5, as the last. there is a section dedicated to Kenneth Patchen with articles by Alan Ginsberg and Lawrence Ferlinghetti among others. There are also several sections with cartoon illsutrations by Kelsie Harder (signed “Kelsie”). This last issue was published after the Webbs had moved from New Orleans to Tucson Arizona. There is also a list of financial supporters who sent cash to help publish this last issue after the Webbs had sold all their possessions, and moved to Tucson.
