Description: Hi! You're looking at an excellent condition book which is RARE, hard to find and OUT OF PRINT and a collection of Anti-Catholic short stories written by GUY FITCH PHELPS--the book is a collectible unstated FIRST EDITION and is a HARDCOVER with no dustjacket. This book is in excellent condition and has a few slight discolored spot on the lower portion of the front cover, a few tiny discolored spots on the upper page edge, slight dings on the spine and opening tips, slight tanning on the right portion of the blank first page and left portion of the back surface of the blank last page, a VERY slight loosening on the upper portion of the binding at the blank last page and just light shelfwear and very light evidence of gentle browsing but NO other significant imperfections! The book is titled The Moan of the Tiber and it was written by GUY FITCH PHELPS; it was published by The Standard Publishing Company and is a 1st EDITION copy. This is a vintage collection of loosely linked anti-Catholic sensation stories, exposing the abuses carried on by the Catholic Church in a certain conventual order. As Phelps writes: "The Houses of the Good Shepherd, with their laundries and workshops, are enormous revenue-yielding institutions, which escape taxation, and enable Rome to further fatten on the unpaid toil of little child slaves." A fantastic find, and a beautiful copy of this book! Thanks for looking, and good luck if you're bidding!
