The Maurice Valency adaptation of the Jean Giraudoux play opened in NYC on 12/27/48 and ran for 368 performances. The production then toured and went back to the NY City Center where it opened on 06/13/50 and ran for 17 performances. The front features artwork by Christian Bernard, some cast and production credits, theatre credit and performance dates. The back contains critics' quotes. The cast includes Martita Hunt, John Carradine, Estelle Winwood, Nydia Westman, Eleonora Mendelssohn, Martin Kosleck, Jonathan Harris and Louis Sorin. Directed by Alfred de Leagre Jr. This is NOT a reproduction!! Heralds are advertising flyers that are placed at theatres and sometimes included in Playbills and programs. Sizes vary but most of the older ones are 6 x 9 1/2 inches. Brochure style heralds can be one sheet or multi folds and measure about 3 3/4 x 8 1/2 inches. Condition is near excellent with minor wear. International purchases are subject to a $2.00 handling fee. CONDITION: I use a six-step condition scale to describe the overall paper quality: Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor. Good means just that: desireable for a collection with no immediate need to upgrade. Excellent and Mint are usually reserved for publisher and music store remainders. Expect Good-minus and Fair to have considerable wear. All specific condition faults are noted after the general condition. IMAGES: I use a digital camera so the entire piece is visible.
