Description: This complete set, 30 volumes, of the Encyclopedia Americana was published and printed in 1947 by Grolier Incorporated. The first edition was began in 1829 and completed in 1833 as a 13 volume set. The Encyclopedia Americana is international in it’s diverse topics, but is known for its focus of American and Canadian geography and history. The 1st online edition of the Americana came out in 1996 and the final print edition came out in 2006. This edition, being published just after the end of WW II, opens volume 1 with a 63 page dedication to the leaders of American armed forces and the men who fought. Interesting notes include a map of a unified Korea, discussions on the atom bomb, and the US Territory of Alaska (see pics).
