Description: From my small camera collection is this hard to find gem, a 5x8 inch model view camera made by The Eastman Dry Plate & Co. These models turn up from time to time, but not often. The camera is in good condition with a few scratches and minor knicks here and there. The wood on the bottom of the camera at the tripod mount had been broken at sometime in it's life. The bottom was repaired with a section of cherry wood and a standard 1/4 20 thread insert installed for tripod use. The lens board is a replacement and the fit is snug, but works fine. The lens is an Ilex series IV f/6.3 with clean glass. The Ilex shutter is also working with speeds close to indicated. The bellows appear to be light tight with 2 visible repairs over the years. The original ground glass looks clean. Included with the camera are 5 of the Eastman plate holders which are double sided. The holders have been modified from original to accept 5x7 sheet film. The conversion is somewhat crude, but it works well. This is a nice camera, but since starting out with Ultra Large Format, this one needs a new home. The last image is a sample made with the camera.
