Up for sale is a very nice antique book titled: THE DIVINE COMEDY OF DANTE ALIGHIERI Translated by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow! I did not find a publication date. The last copyright date is 1895. The original owner neatly wrote her name and the date 1909 on the front endpaper (See photo). I acquired this book from a private estate. I found if safely tucked away on a library bookshelf where it had been for decades. CONDITION: This antique book is complete and intact, in very good condition as evidenced by the photos. The front cover and spine are nicely decorated in gold gilt. The covers are in very good condition with light age-expected edge and corner wear. The inside covers are in very good-plus condition, with no cracking or separation present at the hinges. The pages are in very good to very good-plus condition, the pages are crisp, all pages are tight to the binding. The original owner neatly wrote some notes on the first 43 pages, in the margins next to passages. After page 43 there are no additional markings on the pages. The decorated spine is in very good condition with some shelf wear. The gold gilt lettering is easily read. See Photos Please E-mail with any inquires. This book comes from a smoke free home.
