Description: This is the 2nd edition of the original 1896 copyright. Right now this book looks good, is complete and clean without any writing inside or out, is still solid for a older, large and heavy book and overall is in respectable collectable condition just the way it is. The problem is the rear hinge is beginning to deteriorate (photos) {the front hinge still looks decent inside and out}. From photos of the other books for sale on eBay, this seems to be a weak point with this particular cookbook. If this book is going to be used consistently, say as a cookbook, some creative taping could add years more to its life, however even now it is in one piece and the book is still solid, but it will need some TLC when handled. It is also a little tattered around the edges and looks like it was dropped on one corner (photo). This old cookbook needs a good home.
