THE BEATLES, RARITIES - EX/VG+ U.K. PARLOPHONE/EMI 1979 RELEASE

Description: This sale is for the hard to find, Beatles album titled, Rarities. Please Note: There were two U.K. originated “Rarities” issues with the same track listings. This is the Master Release for the original 1979 U.K. issued, Rarities, a compilation produced under the Parlophone label, manufactured by E.M.I. for release only in the U.K. but not for release in the U.S. Nor is this the almost identical U.K. version released only in the boxed 13-record set. Identical to this: The Beatles - Rarities that says 'MADE IN GT BRITAIN' on labels' rim text instead of 'MANUFACTURED IN THE UK BY EMI RECORDS LIMITED. The 1978 release (UK cat # PSLP261) was ONLY in the box set worldwide and says "Sampler album not for sale" or some variation on the back cover and/or on the label, (aside from the Japanese version). This version continued to be reissued in the box set in years to come. In 1979 this issue came out on its own (U.K. # PCM 1001 - other countries may differ). This version does not have the sampler or promo text written on it anywhere. The record is in Excellent (EX) almost Near Mint condition with 1 tiny hairline that is almost impossible to see or feel but otherwise the vinyl is beautiful and glossy and has no damage, no groove wear, no marks, no smudges or scratches. Please see photos. The jacket condition is Very Good Plus (VG+) as it shows very well on first impression but has very light ring wear, age wear on the top edge, and 3 of 4 corners gently dinged. Includes "Made in Great Britain" wax paper inner sleeve in Excellent condition. Please see photos. All tracks are in "Stereo" except A2 to A6 and B1 to B4 and B6 to B8 which are "Mono" recordings. “Komm Gib Mir Deine Hand” (aka, “I Want To Hold Your Hand”) and “Sie Leibt Dich” (aka, “She Loves You”) are on this album exactly as the Beatles released their 1963 single on 45 rpm and sung in German, not English. They sang both songs in German to show appreciation for apprenticeships in Hamburg, Germany starting their careers.
