This board works with US or Japanese consoles because all Nintendo DS Lite consoles are region free Note: Nintendo sometimes applied insulating glue to the audio controller chip from the factory, which some of these boards will have. It appears as a tan-colored blob near the wifi card, and it isn't a defect. Do not attempt to remove it since it's highly likely you'll damage the audio controller chip underneath, and the shell fits together just fine with it there.
