Description: Cherokee Knife Maker, Ted Miller is an American Indian Artisan, of Miami-Peoria-Cherokee heritage. He has won over fifty significant awards. He carves images of his heritage and culture from stories passed down through his ancestors. Ted makes the handles for his knives from natural shed Deer and Elk Antler enhanced with semiprecious stones such as turquoise, coral, and onyx. Black handles are made from Buffalo horn. The blades for the knives are hand-shaped, sharpened, polished and heat-treated individually from 440C stainless steel, 56-60 Rockwell, and acid etched designs are worked on the larger blades . All knives are shaped and balanced to provide a perfect grip for the sportsman as well as the ultimate in arts acquisition for the collector. Some handles may be similar in nature or design but each is an original piece with no two being exactly alike. Each knife is individually numbered. This one is #5529. This Ted Miller handmade custom knife is truly a unique piece of art. He carefully crafted this hunting knife with a carved stag handle and carbon steel blade. The knife has been hand-made with utmost attention to detail, Its rarity is due in part to the fact that it was custom-made by an American Indian artist, adding to its cultural significance. Total length of knife is approximately 10" with a 4 1/2" blade. Carved stag handle has cabochon turquoise and coral inlays. Bottom of handle is carved like a bear paw with turquoise inlaid there as well. I can't tell if the blade is etched with a scene or exactly what it is. Knife is from an extensive collection we have purchased - it appears to be unused. Will only ship within the US.
