Description: TAMIYA 1/48 Masterpiece Series No.114 GRUMMAN F-14A TOMCAT Model 61114 JAPAN81 Description Condition: New Product Introduction 1/48 scale plastic assembly kit of the U.S. Navy F-14A Tomcat, which continued to fly as the world's most powerful air defense fighter from 1970 until its retirement in 2006. The F-14A was also exported to Iran, where it is still maintained independently and deployed on the front lines as the mainstay of air defense. Three types of air-to-air missiles, including the AIM-54A Phoenix, are included as standard with the kit. The canopy is a slide-molded reproduction of an omega section. Can be selected to open or close even after completion. Two figures are included: a seated pilot and a radar interceptor officer. Two types of engine nozzles are provided, one in a closed position for cruising and the other in a fully open position for afterburner use. The refueling glove on the right side of the model comes with both deployed and retracted parts, and can be assembled with or without the cover. Variable main wings are designed to be inserted into the core parts after the fuselage is assembled. Easy to paint. Left and right main wings are securely interlocked by meshing gears. Two types of air bags and sealing panels for the main wing glove tops are provided to fill the gaps that occur when the main wings move. These can be replaced even after assembly is complete. A total of three types of slide marks are included: two in the popular Hi-Viz paint scheme and one for the Iranian Air Force. Includes color painting diagram and actual aircraft explanatory materials.
