Description: TAMIYA | MT121 | HUNTING TIGER GERMAN ARMY 71.7ton HEAVY TANK DESTROYERJagd Panzer Pz Jg VI JAGD TIGER ( Sd.Kfz 186s) This tank was officially known as the Jagdpanzer VI, "Jagdtiger" Sd. Kfz. 186S. It had had more superior armament than the Elephant tank; and it had heavy armor and a good performance for a hunting tank. It suffered a lack of maneuverability and only a few of these tank killers were in action with Tank Hunter detachments of the German Army. TheHunting Tiger was developed as a prime anti-tank weapon. Previous strategy had required the use of captured equipment along with German armor designs. As Allied tanks added thicker armor plate, German tank destroyers mounted heavier, armor piercing weapons. As Allied guns grew more deadly, the German Tank Hunters were forced to shield themselves behind reinforced hulls, improvised armor, and side skirting. The Hunting Tiger was developed to give the six man crew this required protection plus the fire power they needed to knock out Allied and Russian Tanks.
