Syracuse Dewitt Clinton 9 3/4" Oval Serving Dish Relish Plate Pheasant Bird VTG

Description: This is for a 9 3/4" oval relish dish / serving trayfrom Syracuse China in the DeWitt Clinton Hotel which was also publicly available. This Syracuse pattern features pink and blue flowers on green stems, and a yellow and blue unfurling stem of something. The main colors are a burgundy red, yellow, navy blue, and green. In the center is a pheasant on a branch surrounded by pink flowers. In some places, the bird is referred to as a Bird of Paradise, in others a pheasant. Regardless it is pretty! To me, this looks like the underplate to a gravy boat and I do have a gravy boat in this pattern but it is the version with the gold rim whereas this has no gold rim. If they matched in that respect, I would sell them together. 9 3/4" long and 4 7/8" wide. Condition is gently used vintage: no cracks or chips, no dullness to glaze. No stains. Very little evidence of past use. Date Code looks to be either 17-C or 19-C-- so either 1988 or 1990. This pattern was made starting in 1937 so... I also have some scalloped edge bowls (Winthrop shape) in this pattern with the pheasant in the center, date code 32D (2003) plus a gold rim gravy boat, coffee cups, and dinner plate.
