It's not the exact copy of the comic that is for sale in this listing, nor is it intended to approximate the condition of the book that we are selling. It is provided for informational purposes, to help you know what issue you are buying. In some rare instances the stock photo inadvertently shows an alternative cover (such as an alternative cover price issue). Note that the copy we are selling will not be the alternative copy unless noted in the listing. We are selling the regular one, unless noted in the listing. We do provide scans of the exact copy of the comic for sale for almost all comics with retail prices of $20 or more. I'm sorry, but we cannot provide scans or give grading notes on these books. We do guarantee that you will get the condition listed, and you will be happy with your book or your money back. Why do we use a stock picture for under $20 books? We get many inquiries and comments about our use of stock photos, so I am writing to explain why they are used. For many years we only listed books with a value of $20 or more on our ebay store. We have thousands of great vintage Gold, Silver, Bronze, Copper, and Modern age books with values from $5 to $19 on hand at our stores, but economics did not previously allow us to list them here. It simply takes too long to scan them to make it cost effective for us. Beginning in 2010, we figured out a way to profitably list these items. We now list them using a "stock photo", rather than using a scan of the actual book for sale. The condition of each book is described in the title, right after the title and issue number. Sometimes it is spelled out like Good. Other times it is abbreviated, like G (for Good). If you are not sure what the grade (Good, Fine, Mint, etc.) means, then please consult our guide to those terms and their abbreviations, below. We guarantee accurate grading, and we guarantee that you will be happy with each book, or you can return them for a refund. No one has sent any of them back yet, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, so people that order must be happy. I'm sorry, but due to the large amount of orders we fill each day we cannot fulfill requests for the actual scans for these books. We also cannot provide descriptions of the condition. Order with confidence. You’ll never regret doing business with Lee's Comics. You are safe here. We have been serving collectors for over 28 years. We have a spotless record for integrity and service. All books are unrestored and complete unless otherwise noted. Grading is strict and accurate. We are always interested in buying quality collections of comics from the 1970s and earlier. Please inquire. Please look over our ebay feedback rating. We strive for 100% customer service satisfaction. We want you as a repeat customer, and it's our hope to earn that privilege. UNDERSTANDING COMIC BOOK GRADES. Grading comic books is one of the most difficult parts of the the hobby to master. Most collectors and many dealers too seem to have difficulty mastering it. Over-grading is one of the most pervasive problems of the industry. Here is a concise overview of comics grading. For more information, consult the Overstreet Price Guide. Keep in mind, that you grade each book by the same standards regardless of age. A Near Mint book is a Near Mint book whether it is from the 1940s or from 2007. Here are the grades. NM, Near Mint=Like New. You really have to look close to find any flaws at all. Might have just one tiny color flake, or other very minor blemish. No creases acceptable. VF, Very Fine=Almost Like New with just a couple of tiny, barely noticeable flaws. One or two small color flakes along the spine are acceptable, but no folds or tears. F, Fine=A nice looking comic. Still Glossy and handsome, but has more noticeable flaws such as several color flakes along the spine. The cover should still be firmly attached at the staples. VG, Very Good=A decent looking comic that is showing more heavy wear. May have subscription crease down the middle. May have a loose staple. G, Good=Well worn, but still sound. Generally the lowest grade that most collectors will accept for most books, unless they are quite rare. Could be soiled, lack color gloss or have tape on it. Some drawing on cover is acceptable in this grade. FA, Fair=Really beat. Can Have large chunks missing, a completely split cover, or coupons cut out. Cover may be scribbled on. P, Poor= Just about as bad as you can get. A rag with missing pages. Barely There. The worst. Please email me with any questions. Lee Hester Lee's Comics 6/11
