The Sberna studio has been producing majolica wares in Deruta for over 50 years and is world renowned for its high quality ceramics. Design: In keeping with that long tradition of excellence, the plate is beautifully hand painted in a bold design of two hunting dogs with their captured prey. On the back are two small holes for a hanger. Size: The plate is 14 3/4 inches wide and 1 3/4 inches deep. It weighs an impressive 4 pounds 6 ounces. Condition: It's in excellent condition with no marks, nicks, cracks, scratches, stains, repairs or wear. There are two small chips on the back rim; they're shown in the photo with the pennies and are not visible when the plate is on display. The plate has many of the pinpoint pricks and inconsistencies in glazing and paint that are typical of handmade Deruta ceramics and add to their charm.
