This fossil was quarried in an extinct lake that is known as Fossil Lake in Lincoln County, Wyoming and it dates from the Eocene epoch a CRAZY 53.5 to 48.5 Million YEARS ago! Here's More Info....Fifty-million years ago an ancient Lake existed in what is now Southwest Wyoming, US. The unusual chemistry of the lake created conditions that prevented decay while alternating layers of limestone and organic matter accumulated.
