Installation instructions : Follow these simple steps to install our Polystyrene (Styrofoam) Ceiling Tiles over popcorn or smooth surfacesPrepare the surface; remove loose plaster, paint, wallpaper etc. Apply the adhesive on the back of each plank along the perimeter. We recommend to use Water Based STYRO PRO adhesive ( please see our other listing to purchase). Ceramic wall tile paste adhesive (like Acryl Pro or Omni Grip,which could be found at any local building supplies store) can also be used. Please note: Installation of the tiles over the popcorn requires more adhesive then for plain drywall or plywood ceilings. Install the first row along the side; We recommend to start along the longest wall and work your way to the other side, or from the most visible corner along the wall. Install the planks one row after another (with a "shift" on each new row, similar to the way hardwood floors are installed). The planks have finished beveled edges and are installed by butt joining. Work your way through; first install all the whole tiles, then cut the tiles as necessary and install the cut pieces at the end. Use sharp utility knife for cutting. If you decide to fill in the joints; use paintable silicone to ensure that the ceiling will still remain paintable.Paint the planks using a thick fluffy roller ( same as for popcorn ceiling painting), and a Water Based paint.
