Description: Autographed and inscribed 6" x 8" half tone photograph as Carmen printed on heavy stock, 1966. Stepanova (1906 - 1992) was a Czech contralto. Singing since her youth, she studied in Bratislava and graduated in 1932. From 1930 to 1933 she worked Ostrava Opera and from 1933 on the at the National Theater in Prague. She had over 200 roles in her repertory and was the noted Carmen of her day there. She sung the role over 300 times.
