Description: ARTIST - STEAMTRACKS - "NA NA HEY HEY KISS HIM GOODBYE" b/w "IT'S THE MAGIC IN YOU GIRL" FORMAT - 7" single OTHER DETAILS - • Fontana TF 1058/278 838 TF, 1969 UK pressing • Paper labels, large centre version (so ideal for jukeboxes!) • Fontana company sleeve (new period repro) "Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye". was written and recorded by studio musicians Gary DeCarlo (aka Garrett Scott), Dale Frashuer, and producer/writer Paul Leka at Mercury Records studios in New York City. The single was attributed to the band Steam, although at the time there was actually no band with that name! Initially, Leka decided on "Sweet Laura Lee" as the next single and a B-side was needed. DeCarlo and Leka were asked to cut a B-side along with Frashuer. The trio chose to use a previously unrecorded song from their Chateaus days, which became "Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye". To the musicians' surprise, Reno decided that "Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye" should be an A-side. Released late in 1969, "Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye" reached number one in the United States for two weeks in December 1969 and was also a Top 10 hit in the UK and Canada. Following that success, the song was covered by The Dave Clark Five in 1973 and then ten years later, was a top 10 hit for Bananarama. CONDITION - COVER • New period repro • Please see pictures above RECORD (VISUAL GRADING UNLESS STATED - SEE BELOW) • In about G+/VG condition • Name faintly written at top of A Side label (see pics) • A number of light (non-feelable), very light and hairline surface marks to each side • Nothing major and I can find no deep or feelable marks or scratches, should play fine with maybe some background noise? Visual gradings are as above.3) I consider a surface mark or a surface scuff to be mark(s) which you can see but that are on the top surface of the record only and as such are 'non-feelable'. If you can actually feel a mark - for example, with a finger nail - then I would consider that to be a 'scratch' which would likely cause 'ticks', 'clicks' etc. during play. VINYL GRADING NEW: note that still sealed items will be presumed to be in 'new' condition, but are obviously sold as seen. Any visible signs of wear/storage etc. beneath the shrinkwrap will be mentioned. MINT: note please note that I will NEVER use the 'MINT' grade, as I think you are asking for trouble! The highest grade for an item that is not new will use will be NM (Near Mint). NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in very close to 'as new' condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in almost perfect condition. EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing. VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played a number of times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and maybe some occasional light scratches. If there is any surface noise it will be occasional, light and unobtrusive. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable. GOOD (G): The record has obviously been played a lot and while it still plays through OK, it will have a lot of surface marks and/or light scratches (maybe also the occasional 'feelable' scratch) and most likely there there will be regular and noticeable surface noise. The cover and contents may suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine and/or seam splits, discoloration, etc. TERMS & CONDITIONS *Important* - the ONLY countries I will send to by uninsured mail (for item(s)under £20) are as follows: - UK.
