You can leave 1 inch on length and width to ensure you cover the entire window. The excess can be trimmed after installation.Step 3: Make sure the glass is clean. Spray the film and window with a solution and place the film onto the window. Slide the film and make sure it covers all edges of the window.Step 4: Spray the film with solution. Start to squeegee from the center of the window to all edges. Be sure to apply firm pressure to ensure all solution is removed.Step 5: To trim the excess film, firmly press down on the edge of the window using a cutting stick and trim the excess film with a trimming knife. Repeat step 3 to finish the installation and ensure all solution is removed from under the film. Wrap a paper towel around the squeegee and use it to squeegee out the water.
