Description: COMPLETELY GONE THROUGH & TUNED STANLEY No.3 TYPE 13 SMOOTH SOLE PLANE 1925 - 1928 9" long , 2-1/8 wide , cutter 1-3/4" wide The body and frog were cleaned very well then any area missing japanning was treated with metal oxide rust inhibitor which seal's and helps protect from corrosion. This in no way hurts the existing japanning. All the hardware was cleaned and oiled. The rosewood Tote & knob are very nice. Both were cleaned then waxed several times to get a very smooth natural finish. Sole was lapped. All lapping is done by hand on a granite slab. Cheeks were lapped and the rail's were cleaned and smoothed out. Frog face & seats lapped. Cap iron was cleaned and lapped. The Cutter was lapped and sharpened. Its extremely sharp and cuts superb shavings leaving a very smooth finish on the wood surface. The Lever cap was cleaned then lapped at its contact point.This is a excellent working plane that will make a great addition to any work shop or collection.
