Description: This St Francis de Sales (Hearing Loss) Healing Holy Card with Medal includes a full-color holy card with two healing prayers, a saint biography and an oxidized silver patron saint medal. Saint Francis was born to a noble family near Annecy in Savoy, a region of France, in 1567. He received a doctorate in canon and civil law from the University of Padua, but chose to enter the priesthood in 1593 against his family's wishes. Saint Francis' first years as a priest were spent evangelizing in the Chablais region of France. He preached with zeal and worked tirelessly to convert those who would not listen. He often took ill because of his constant load of preaching, visiting, and instruction - even catechizing a deaf man so he could take first Communion. He triumphed in overcoming the heresies of Calvinism and converted many Protestants back to the Church. He was eventually appointed coadjutor bishop of Geneva in 1599, bishop in 1602, and in 1610, he helped found the Order of the Visitation. He died in 1622, was canonized in 1665, and declared a Doctor of the Church in 1877.Saint Francis de Sales is recognized today as the patron of those suffering from hearing loss.
